China’s IC Industry Topped 100 billion Yuan in 2006
Propelled by the accelerated growth of the semiconductor markets at home and abroad, sales revenues in China’s IC industry topped the 100 billion Yuan in 2006 for the first time, reaching 100.63 billion Yuan, up by 43.3% year-on-year. The fast-growing packaging and testing industry and the further improvement of the chip making industry became the 2 major flashing points in the development of the IC industry in 2006. CCID Consulting thinks that by 2011, IC sales revenues in China will top 300 billion Yuan, reaching 341.544 billion Yuan. By then, China will become one of the most important IC manufacturing bases in the world.

China’s Display Market Grows Fast with LCD in the Mainstream
As big screen displays become more popular worldwide, there will be a general drop in the price of PC LCD monitors in the next year or two.
CCID Consulting forecasts that 26.614 million displays will be sold in China in 2007. Due to product renewal and structural changes, sales revenues will reach 32.63 billion Yuan, up by 11.0%, which represents faster growth than sales volume.

In 2006, data communications showed strong growth potentials among numerous telecom services. Fixed operators lost their advantages in voice services.
